I've been very excited about this class. Three lessons
into this course, I'm not even considered an average
yet but I think that I've learnt a beautiful language
that is both expressive and subtle at the same time.
I know this may sound confusing but I think most of
you would know what I mean.
I
had interest in sign language for a very long time now.
MAW has given me the chance to learn it, and at such
low rate, it'a really a good bargain for me. Besides,
our friendly Daniel and Desmond are such wonderful and
cute instructors~!
I'll try to learn as much as I can for the rest of the
5 lessons and try to remember them. I've always liked
to interact with others who know sign language so that
I get to meet people from a very different cultural
background and upbringing (eg hearing impaired). And
also I find it nice to have another form of communication,
especially when you are outside and don't want others
to know what you talking about.. heheh..
Interesting thing is, we are supposed to learn to "Sign
Songs" and not "Sing Songs". This is really tough and
is great challenge to me. But I think just have to get
used to it and more practise. It's not easy, but not
THAT difficult either.
Anyway, that's personal objective, but all in all, I'm
very happy with the course because our intructors are
very friendly, expressive and helpful. It makes the
lesson less tense and we joke around all the time too
and have good laugh, esp poor Fred who was teased most
of the time (be it for good or for bad cause, hahah)
Well
so much said, I do hope that more can take part in this
class (if there's more to come in future) as it's really
nice and we can make our HI friends feel more welcomed
and more comfortable if more of us could communicate
with them, even at a slower pace is fine.
Lastly,
I just want to say that keep up the good work guys!
I'm glad that I joined this group. :)
